Windfarm proposal for Almeria

A new floating windfarm is proposed for Almeria, in the areas of Nijar and Carboneras, with the capacity to generate upto 28% of the province's power needs. The 300MW Mar de Agata windfarm will create 7500 jobs and will save 12 million tonnes of CO2. It will have 20 turbines of 260 metres height, at a distance of 15 km from the coast. Wind energy is the largest single source of electrical power in Spain.
