From this Friday, October 21, Spain eliminates all health controls for travellers arriving from any country to Spanish territory, including the borders with Ceuta and Melilla.
According to the resolution published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), "in order to favor the normalization of international mobility, with the least possible impact on public health, it is considered convenient to leave without effect the sanitary control measures for people coming from countries not belonging to the European Union or with the consideration of Schengen associated countries".
The decision has been made taking into account the evolution of the pandemic in the world and the high rates of immunization.
Until now, health controls were limited to people who came from countries outside the European Union or with the consideration of Schengen associated countries, but since October 21 they cease to have effect. This decision will favor the arrival of more travelers to Spain, among which are the segment of teleworkers and digital nomads. This measure coincides with autumn and the approach of winter, periods of the year in which the south of Spain, Andalusia, is one of the most interesting European destinations for remote workers due to its mild and sunny climate.
