Telework Andalucía, in collaboration with the Association of Tourism Companies of the province of Cádiz (AETC), organized the 1st Conference on Teleworking and Nomadic Tourism in the province of Cádiz on November 3 in the city of Cádiz.
Twenty speakers participated in the meeting to discuss, exchange experiences and analyze the situation of the province of Cadiz as a destination for teleworkers and digital nomads.
The event brought together more than a hundred attendees from the private sector and the public administration, including those responsible for coliving and coworking spaces, companies in the tourism sector, experts in the accommodation segment, promoters of teleworking and repopulation initiatives, companies of telecommunications and entrepreneurs, as well as technicians specialized in tourism management and technological development as well as political representatives.
The Congress revolved around four major areas of debate:
- Cádiz as a destination as a province associated with an attractive quality of life for living, investing and attracting talent.
- The needs of digital nomads in the province of Cádiz
- Present and future of the tourist accommodation sector and the adaptation of the availability of mid-stay tourism offers.
- The potential of villages for teleworking.
Although the formal conclusions of the Congress will be presented at the end of the year, some reflections from the round tables focused on the potential of Cádiz to generate economy and opportunities around Telework Tourism, an innovative segment that combines tourism, attraction of talent and resettlement. Likewise, the importance of developing an ecosystem of teleworkers and digital entrepreneurs was highlighted, as well as the need to establish public-private alliances to advance a joint strategy to position Cádiz as an international telework destination.
Among the panelists at the round tables were Álvaro Graciani (economist and lawyer specializing in tourist accommodation and secretary of the Holiday Homes Association of Andalusia), Joaquín Romero (Co-founder of COliving Hotels), Ramón Pradera (founder of Come to live in a town), Marina Pabón, co-founder of the coliving La Cocotera and Marta Garat, president of the AETC.
The congress was sponsored by the Tourist Board of the province of Cadiz, the City Council of Cadiz, the Free Trade Zone of Cadiz, the Institute for Employment and Technological Development (IEDT) of the province of Cadiz, the University of Cadiz and Eurona.
